150 Years of Shaftesbury Park Primary School
The 2026-2027 academic year will mark 150 years of education at Shaftesbury Park Primary School.
Built at the heart of the Shaftesbury Park Estate, the school was a physical representation of the progressive ideals of a pioneering construction project that attracted national attention. The school was among the last of the buildings to be completed, and welcomed its very first pupils on Monday, 5 February 1877.
We will be marking the milestone over the course of the year, looking at some of the key events in the school's life, looking at what's changed in that time, but also the times the school always seemed to have a mission to develop children who think about their world, enlarge their world, and change their world.
We're planning to open the school to the local community and alumni to celebrate this special date, if you want to be involved or are part of the Shaftesbury Park family — whether a former pupil, parent, member of staff, or part of the wider school community — and would like to share your story, watch this space for more details.
